Plum Frangipane

The typical tartness of red plum is mellowed in the oven when baked atop a pillow of our housemade frangipane (just a five-dollar word for "almond cream.") This one ventures off the traditional Texas flavors and into "the bakery likes this flavor so she made it" territory. But honey, if a baker likes something, it's probably worth a shot, don't you think? Available seasonally.
